I remember riding in the back of my friend’s ’67 Buick Skylark. Six sweaty teenagers smoking cheap cigarettes as the sun set. We pulled into this McDonalds parking lot and witnessed a sea of beautiful classic cars everywhere. That was in 1992 and I’ve been going back to the Scottsdale Pavilions car show ever since.
Taking good photos at a car show is tough. There’s people everywhere, crappy backgrounds and space is tight. I decided to focus on the details of the cars for this long-term project. These images where shot with a variety of cameras over the course of about 5-7 years.
